Sticking My Neck Out on This One
How many of you experience a stiff neck or see a bump starting to form over your rounding shoulders? Have you heard “studies” about the permanent and painful neck problems young and old folks alike are experiencing because of the constant use of their cell phones and keyboards?
How often is your chin pointing down during the day?
A few months ago, I noticed an uncomfortably unattractive though slight roundness to my shoulders and the creepy vision of the advancement of a premature Quasimodo resemblance freaked me out.
Since then, I have been uber conscious of my posture. I push my chin back with the tip of my fingers all day long to remind me not to hunch over.
The guy in this stock photo resembles how nearly everyone sits in their car. So I wonder, do you put your head back against the HEADREST when driving?
To reduce a curve or neck pains, I suggest (and this is NOT medical advice, I am just a lawyer with poor posture…) that when you drive, literally rest your head back against headrest and relax your shoulders. It will feel very weird in the beginning as your neck struggles against the realignment.
However, shortly you will feel much more relaxed at the wheel and relieve a lot of tension in your neck.
Try it for a week, then email me at JSNYDB@gmail.com and let me know what you experienced. I will share the results in a future blog.
Take care and be well everyone.
