High Anxiety Indicating Max Stress And Fear
It will tell you a lot about my personality when I share with all of you that I am a crazed Mel Brooks movie fan. I have nearly fainted laughing my head off watching “High Anxiety”, “Frankenstein” and “Blazing Saddles”. For my brothers, sister and I, the phrase “High Anxiety” became a family watchword for when tension was mounting, or a fight was about to start.
Recently I was speaking to a psychologist friend of mine and sharing about the high level of anxiety I feel myself these days and witness in nearly everyone I encounter. She shared that in the US general population, the number of people struggling with generalized anxiety is usually 1 in a 100. Right now, it is 1 in 3.
I often talk about my daily meditation practice and how much I benefit from it.
Again, I suggest downloading and using every morning the app Daily Calm. There is no affiliation program, I do not get a free lunch or a commission. It just helps me and over time I have become able to calm myself down when I am so anxious, I feel my heartbeat in my chest.
Obviously, I am not a doctor and this is NOT medical advice to anyone! I am just sharing with you a practice that has helped me during these difficult times.
