Contested Divorces:
Mediation works extremely well for couples who have worked out between themselves a number of their issues, but need
further guidance. Mediation works very well for couples with short term marriages and limited marital assets. While
each spouse would have at least an office conference with a lawyer of their choosing, the parties can decide the
majority of their issues privately with the mediator. After an Understanding is reached, one of the lawyers prepares
a formal Property Settlement Agreement, which is then reviewed and signed by the spouses. The Property Settlement
Agreement becomes binding upon signing. Thereafter, one of the spouses would take the step of filing for divorce
in the Superior Court and the actual divorce proceeding would proceed much more quickly and less expensively.

Child Support Disputes:
We assist families in determining whether and how much child support should be adjusted as the children age and/or
the family's circumstances change. The amount of child support paid by the payor, and received by the payee spouse
is always modifiable either up or down based on the children's and their parents current circumstances.
While the law of New Jersey provides for a mandatory review of child support amounts every three years, sometimes
more often is necessary. Rather than wasting time and money in court, meet privately with the mediator to work
out a current and reasonable figure for support.

Removal & Relocation of Cases:
The law of New Jersey prohibits parents from removing their minor children permanently out of the State of New Jersey
without their other parent's consent or a Court Order permitting them to do so. When one parent wishes to move far away
from the other, many difficult and emotional concerns arise. Mediation provides a forum for the parties to speak about
their plans, address the objections and concerns of both parents, and discuss the future of their children.

COLLABORATIVE DIVORCE
|
Collaborative law is new to New Jersey. Each party is represented by a specially trained lawyer, whose job is to work toward a mutually
agreeable settlement without resorting to contested litigation.
Collaborative Divorce offers couples a humane, child-focused, and respectable approach to ending a relationship.
